Dear Mr Poon.
I hope you are well. Almost a year ago to the day you performed an ORIF to my (L) fractured humerus, as soon as I had clearance from your orthopedic fellow last June, I was in the swimming pool struggling to swim 25 meters. Since then I have trained and trained, participated in 3 events, the most recent one the Wanaka Challenge on the 16/2/19, The NZ National Championships in the AquaBike section. This entailed a 3 km swim in Lake Wanaka, Temp. 17 degrees C. followed by a 120 km bike race in the foothills around Lakes Wanaka and Hawea.
I am proud to mention that I won a silver medal in the F 70-74 age group and will be eligible to represent NZ in the World Championships.
All this has been made possible by you and your fabulous team as well as Carolyn Mullens who gave excellent physiotherapy post-op.
My (L) shoulder and arm function perfectly fine as you can see at the attached photo, I am so very grateful and happy, THANK YOU so much.
Kind regards
Marieke van Zon
